November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month. Please support awareness and the SCPS McKinney-Vento program by purchasing a GREEN shirt. Students and staff will be encouraged to wear GREEN every Friday in November.

Coming during November...McKinney-Vento will also have a donation drive for FRYSC and District Penny War in collaboration with the MS & HS Beta Clubs.

🎃🧡 Pumpkin Exploration Fun! 🧡🎃 Mrs. Peters’ kindergarten Cubs rolled up their sleeves and got messy exploring pumpkins! 🙌✨ They scooped out seeds, felt all the gooey pulp, counted seeds, and labeled the parts of a pumpkin to discover what’s inside. 🌱🔍 It was a hands-on day full of learning, laughter, and teamwork — our Cubs showed what it means to be Active Collaborators and Empowered Learners! 🐻💡 At SCES, we Love. 🎃🍂 Pumpkin Fun in Mrs. Mac’s Class! 🍂🎃 Mrs. Mac’s Cubs have been learning all about the pumpkin life cycle — from seed to sprout to full-grown pumpkin! 🌱✨ They wrapped up their unit with some creative pumpkin painting 🎨🧡 and an awesome field trip to Mulberry Orchard! 🚜🍁 Our young scientists and artists showed what it means to be Empowered Learners and Active Collaborators, exploring nature, asking questions, and celebrating fall fun together. 🐻🌻 At SCES, we Love. 🎉🔬 STEAM Teacher for the Day! 🔬🎉 Yesterday, Ethan O’Brien stepped into the spotlight as STEAM Teacher for the Day! 🧠⚙️💡 Ethan earned this awesome opportunity by winning it at our annual Fall Festival Auction 🍂🎟️ — and he absolutely rocked it! 🙌 While helping our Cubs explore and create, Ethan showed what it means to be an Empowered Learner and Active Collaborator. 🐻✨ At SCES, we Love. Learn. Lead. — and today, Ethan led the way in STEAM! 💙🔬🌟

Our Cubs didn’t let a little construction or a power outage dim their shine! 🐻💡 Even with the gym closed for construction and a power outage in the lobby, our student-led learning celebration went on—powered by creativity, collaboration, and problem solving! 💪✨ We’re so proud of our Cubs for communicating, adapting, and leading the way to make this day a success! #CubPride #StudentLeaders #ProblemSolvers

💖❤️ Kindness Looks Good on Our Cubs! ❤️💖 Today our Cubs wore red or pink to show that kindness never goes out of style! 💕🐻 From smiles in the hallway to helping hands in class, kindness was shining all around SCES! ✨ Today's Random Act of Kindness Challenge encourages students to: 🌟 Pick one person and find 3 ways to show kindness to them. 🏠 As a family, give back to someone you know — maybe make a card, send a note, or share a kind word! 💌 Our Cubs are showing what it means to be Engaged Citizens who make our world a brighter place. 🌈🙌 At SCES, we Love. This week, our amazing 4th and 5th graders learned all about being good digital citizens — using technology safely, kindly, and responsibly. Then, they put their learning into action by creating fun Google Slides presentations to teach our 2nd and 3rd graders how to be awesome digital citizens too! 💬💙 We’re so proud of our older students for being Engaged Citizens who care about their community and Effective Communicators who share their knowledge with others. 👏👏 Way to go, CUBS — you’re leading the way to make the internet a safer and kinder place for everyone!

🎃🍬 Mr. Scott and Mrs. Dennis had a spooktacular time at the SCHS Educators Rising & NHS Trick-or-Treat Fundraiser! 👻 We loved supporting our high school students while having fun, filling buckets, and maybe sneaking a gumball or two along the way… 😉 A gumball giggle for the night: 🤣 “Why did the gumball go to school? …Because it wanted to stick to good habits!” Thank you SCHS for hosting such a sweet and spirited event! 💙🍭🐾

🌟 It’s Red Ribbon Week at SCES! 🌟 Today we kicked things off with Pajama Day to celebrate healthy habits- especially the importance of good sleep! 😴💤 A healthy night’s sleep helps our Cubs: • Stay focused and ready to learn • Grow strong and healthy • Boost their mood and energy • Strengthen their immune system Our Cubs looked adorable in their cozy jammies, and we loved seeing everyone celebrate healthy choices in such a fun way!💙🐾

🌟💭 Dreaming Big in 3rd Grade! 💭🌟 Before the break, our 3rd grade Cubs took time to think about their futures and set big goals for themselves! 🎯✨ From future careers to personal dreams, they reflected on what inspires them and how they can take steps to get there. 🚀📚 These thoughtful Cubs are shining as Empowered Learners — setting goals, believing in themselves, and planning for success! 🙌🐻 At SCES, we Love. 🦇✨ Batty for Learning! ✨🦇 Mrs. Dill’s 1st graders had a spooktacular week learning all about bats! 🌙📚 They even worked in the dark — just like a real cave! 🕯️🪨 To make it even more special, some awesome 5th graders stopped by to read a book they were studying in their small group. 💙 Next week, these curious Cubs will wrap up their bat unit by creating their own mini research projects — showing off their skills as Empowered Learners and Active Collaborators! 🐻💡 At SCES, we Love. Ms. Coots’ 4th graders were in the writing kitchen today cooking up something SWEET 🍭🐻 They usually do a 5-paragraph essay… but today they said “fiiivve?? nah… we’re going SIXXX… maybe even a SEVVVEENNN 😤🔥” Because when SCES is Sweet… the paragraphs come in extra scoops like ice cream 🍦😂
