We want to make you aware that a water main break in the area has led Spencer County High School to cancel after-school activities today. Our team is in constant communication with the City, and we are grateful for their quick response and partnership.

At this time, we do not anticipate any impact on school operations for tomorrow, Wednesday, September 3, 2025. If that changes for any reason, we will notify you immediately.

25-26 Grandparent’s Day Sign Up

Please use the link below to sign up any guests that will be attending Grandparent’s Day at SCES. This will help with our check in process.

If you plan on checking a child out, the person checking them out will need a photo I.D., to be on the child’s approved pick up list, and a note from the parent/guardian approving the child to be checked out early.

If a child gets checked out early, it will be counted as a tardy.

🌪️📚 What an AMAZING learning experience! Mrs. Mooney and Mrs. Abell’s Cubs had some very special visitors travel 11 hours from Mississippi ❤️🚗— Mrs. Mooney’s grandmother and aunt! They hosted a Q&A session all about Hurricane Katrina to help wrap up the students’ book study. 🌀✨ Our Cubs showed off their skills as Effective Communicators and Engaged Citizens while asking thoughtful questions and learning from real-life experiences. 🙌🐾 At SCES, we Love. 😅🪥 Mrs. Metts’ 4th graders got a little messy on Wednesday while learning an important lesson—once toothpaste is out of the tube, you can’t put it back… just like our words! 💬✨ This silly but meaningful activity reminded our Cubs to speak with kindness ❤️ and be Effective Communicators who lift others up. 🌟 Each day, we learn new ways to Love. 🎉🐻 Last Friday we held our very first Celebration of Learning! 💙 Our Cubs were recognized for showing kindness 💕 in their classrooms, and we introduced our next character trait focus: RESPECT 🙌. Teachers even joined the fun with a game for house points 🏆👏—what a way to bring our school family together! 💫 Through kindness, respect, and teamwork, our Cubs are growing as Active Collaborators and Engaged Citizens—living out what it means to Love. Learn. Lead. every day. 🌟📚

✖️🎉 Math was a BLAST in Mrs. Abell’s class! Our Cubs are diving into multiplication and put their skills to the test in an exciting game of “Array War.” 🔢⚔️ Students faced off against their partners to draw and solve multiplication facts — turning math practice into a fun challenge! 🙌🐾 Through this activity, our Cubs grew as Problem Solvers and Active Collaborators, showing how teamwork and persistence make learning powerful. 💡📚 At SCES, we Love. 🎨🐾 Our 4th grade Cubs had an AWESOME time in art with Ms. Pfiffer, our new art teacher! She challenged them to get creative by drawing half of their face in a realistic style 👀 … and the other half with elements that show off their unique personalities 🌟. This project encouraged our Cubs to be Empowered Learners while exploring their creativity and sharing who they are with others. ✨ We are so excited to see how Ms. Pfiffer helps our Cubs Love. Learn. Lead. through art this year! 💙
