🎶🐾 Music Teacher for the Day! 🐾🎶 Our Fall Festival Auction winners are taking center stage! 🌟 Earlier this week, Kacey got to step into the role of Music Teacher for the Day! 🎤🎹🥁 We hope Kacey had a note-worthy experience sharing the joy of music with our Cubs! 🎵💙 What a fun opportunity to explore a new role and make special memories at SCES! 🐾💡 Weekly STEAM Recap from the SCES Innovation Lab! From coding robots to creating animal models, our Cubs put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work this week! 🎃 Kindergarten explored Halloween engineering challenges! Students built spider web structures, pumpkin bridges, pumpkin patch fences, skeletons, and shape scarecrows as they practiced imagining, building, testing, and improving. 🦇 First grade connected reading, science, and building through Stellaluna! Students learned how parent birds help their babies survive and created models of safe nesting places. 🤖 Second grade was on a roll with Indi robots! Students used color cards to give their robots directions, build paths, and test their code while practicing sequencing and teamwork. 👻 Third grade brought Leonard Builds a Haunted House to life! After exploring 3D shapes and structural models, students sketched designs and built colorful note-card homes for Leonard and his family. 🦅 Fourth grade created a 3D Animal Survival Structures Museum! Students made animal models, marked important structures with colored pins, and created keys explaining how each structure helps the animal survive. 2nd Annual Captain Underpants / Underwear Drive!!!! Please Share!

🍂📚 Fall Stories, Fun Sound Effects, and Lots of Smiles! 🎃🐻 Mr. Scott and Mrs. Dennis had the BEST time visiting classrooms this week to share a fun fall favorite, The Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything! 👵🍁 Not only did our Cubs enjoy this silly, spooky story, but we also had some great conversations about figurative language and onomatopoeia (words that make sounds)! 👏 We made the story even more exciting by using Novel Effect, a fun program that adds music and sound effects as you read aloud! 🔊📖 Our Cubs loved hearing the story come to life! One of our favorite parts of being in classrooms is getting to spend time with our students, share some laughs, and continue building those special relationships! 💙 We LOVE getting to learn, laugh, and make memories with our Cubs! 🐻💙 #SCESCubs #LoveLearnLead #ReadingIsFun #FallReadAloud

🌧️☀️ Rain or Shine, Recess Is Always Fun! 🐻💙 No matter the weather, Mrs. White and Ms. Nicole’s Cubs LOVE recess! 🐾🎉 When the weather keeps us indoors, our kindergarteners make the most of indoor recess by playing with friends, using their imaginations, and creating their own fun! 🧸🧱🎨 Our Cubs are practicing being Active Collaborators as they share, take turns, and play together, all while building friendships and having fun! 🤝✨ Because at SCES, learning, growing, and making memories happen in every kind of weather! 💙 Love. 🤖🖐️ Hands-On Science: Engineering the Human Hand! 🖐️🔬 Mrs. Sanford’s fourth-grade Cubs dove into the human machine by engineering their very own working paper robot fingers! 🤖✂️ These young scientists put their STEM skills to work as they built models to demonstrate how our fingers move. By pulling strings to mimic how muscles and tendons help move our joints, students brought the science of the human body to life! 💡🧠 Our Cubs were amazing Effective Communicators as they used scientific vocabulary to explain how their models worked and how they represented real human fingers. They were also Problem Solvers as they designed, tested, and explored the mechanics of movement! 🛠️✨ We love seeing our Cubs think like engineers, communicate like scientists, and discover how the world works—all while they Love. Learn. Lead. 💙🐾

🐻💙 Counselor for the Day! 💙🐾 Before the break, Austin got to spend a special day with Mrs. Phillips after winning Counselor for a Day at our Fall Festival Auction! 🎉🌟 These two were so busy teaching classes and helping with the school assembly that they only managed to snap ONE picture of their busy day together! 📸😂 It sounds like Austin jumped right into the action and got a taste of all the fun and hard work that goes into helping our Cubs Love. Cub Families, Students will bring home a letter today sharing our 2025–2026 KSA testing results. We believe it’s important to keep our families informed and provide state and regional comparisons to help put our scores into context. We are so proud of our Cubs and staff! As we celebrate their hard work, we remain committed to continued growth, high expectations, and academic excellence. We will keep challenging and supporting our students because our students and families deserve our very best. We will also always remember that our Cubs are so much more than a test score. Their kindness, creativity, leadership, and individual growth give us reasons to celebrate every day.

🔢🎃 Math That Feels Like Recess! 🎃🔢 Mrs. White and Ms. Nicole’s kindergarten Cubs put their number skills to the test during their October Math Stations! 🐾🍂 From hands-on activities to fun challenges, our little mathematicians were busy learning while having a blast! ✏️🎲 One student summed it up perfectly: “I thought it was recess, but really it was math!” 😂🙌 And that’s exactly how we like it at SCES—learning so engaging and fun that it feels like play! 💙 Our Empowered Learners are building important math skills, exploring new concepts, and discovering that learning can be exciting! 🍁📚 Our SCES Cubs Are FALL-tastic Readers! 🐻💙 We are SO proud of all of our Cubs who took time over Fall Break to keep their brains growing by reading and completing our Fall Break Challenge! 🍂🎃 Over 100 Cubs participated!
